24-05-2011 - Building of „Sava Bridge”

The new bridge across the Sava River in Belgrad has been designed as a landmark for the people of Serbia.

The 376 m long main span, and 200 m long back span, are supported by 80 stay cables, anchored at the 200 m high single-pylon structure. The deck, 20 m above the water level, has been designed to accommodate six traffic lanes and a double track light rail line, in addition two paths for the use of pedestrians and cyclists, resulting the overall width of 45m.

STACO also participates in that project as a supplier of platform gratings and ladder rungs, mounted inside the pylon.

Below you can see a few photos from that outstanding building site. The grand opening schould take place in 2013.
